The Most Expensive Zero

I caught AI making a surprisingly human mistake today.

Someone wrote:

> 2400

AI decided:

> "2400 is just a typo for 24,000. He dropped a zero."

No evidence.

Just confidence.

The funny part is that all the math after that was correct.

The mistake wasn't the calculation.

The mistake was quietly turning a guess into a fact.

I've noticed this pattern a lot with AI.

Bad outputs rarely come from bad reasoning.

They usually come from an assumption that slipped through unchallenged.

In this case, it was just one extra zero.

Everything after that was perfectly logical.
