Learning Chunk Size
A lot of learning problems are actually chunk size problems.
---
Take learning a piano piece.
---
If the learning chunk is too large,
a beginner might try to practice the entire piece from start to finish every time.
The brain gets overwhelmed.
Too many notes.
Too many movements.
Too many things to remember at once.
Progress feels slow and frustrating.
---
If the learning chunk is too small,
someone might practice only two notes repeatedly.
Now the opposite problem appears.
The tiny movement becomes easy,
but the person still cannot play the actual music.
The pieces never connect together.
---
Good learning usually sits somewhere in between.
Maybe practicing one musical phrase at a time.
Small enough to focus deeply.
Large enough to feel the connection and flow.
---
I think this applies to almost everything:
coding,
languages,
sports,
leadership,
even learning how to use AI.
---
Learning is not just about effort.
It is also about choosing the right learning chunk.
